Job Summary

Dat Moi Market is looking for a MEAT & SEAFOOD CLERK to prepare and package fresh products, while maintaining cleanliness and quality. The role also involves providing exceptional service, assisting customers for inquiries and special orders.

Responsibilities & Duties

1. Inspect all incoming meat and seafood products, conducting quality checks and storing products according to food safety regulations.

2. Skillfully cut, trim, and portion various meats and seafood according to customer preferences while adhering to store guidelines.

3. Portion, wrap, and label products for both self-service cases and custom orders.

4. Monitor and maintain optimal storage conditions under proper temperature-controlled conditions to maintain quality and safety.

5. Conduct regular freshness checks.

6. Have full knowledge of all products, daily features and promotions.

7. Ensure correct and helpful signage and pricing in the department.

8. Set-up and/or breakdown personal workstation including: knives, scissors, cutting boards, bandsaw, grinder, white buckets, yellow buckets (apron, shirt, towels), etc.

9. Routinely clean and disinfect all tools, equipment, and workspaces to meet health code guidelines.

10. Use all equipment such as the freezer trailer and forklift according to Dat Moi guidelines.

11. Immediately report all life safety and fire hazards, violations of company policy, and all accidents and injuries to store leadership.

12. Adhere strictly to all food safety measures and sanitation practices in accordance with public health requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Relevant Work Experience: Previous stocker role and/or exposure of working in retail and/or grocery environments, maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Certification: ServSafe, Forklift Operator

Essential Functions:

Excellent customer service abilities

Basic math skills and attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and managing tasks efficiently

Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop regularly, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed

Willingness to work beyond the 40 hours

Benefits

Base Salary: $22.00 per hour
